In the sixth match of the triangular T20 series being played in Bangladesh, the hosts defeated Afghanistan by 4 wickets. Chasing the target of 138 runs given by Afghanistan, Bangladesh won by scoring 139 runs with 4 wickets in 19 overs.
Captain Shakib al Hasan scored the highest 70 runs for Bangladesh. He shared a useful 58-run partnership for the third wicket with Rahim (26). Shakib faced 45 balls in his innings and hit 8 fours and 1 six. Apart from this, in the end, Mosadak Hussain scored 19 runs. For Afghanistan, captain Rashid Ali and Naveen ul Haq took 2-2 wickets.
Before this, Afghanistan's team faltered after a good start.
Opener batsman Hazratullah Jajai added 47 off 35 balls and Rahmatullah Gurbaj 29 off 27 balls added 75 runs in 9.3 overs for the first wicket.
However, after this, no batsman could manage to bat and the team was able to score 138 runs after losing 7 wickets in 20 overs.
Shakib ul Hasan of Bangladesh was given the man of the match.
Many records were broken -
- 1. Shakib ul Hasan scored the eighth half-century of his T20 career. This is his second-highest score in T20.
- 2. Rashid Khan completed 200 wickets in limited-overs cricket (T20 and ODI). His name has recorded 79 wickets in T20.
